Wirral Council's Budget Saving Proposals 2022 - 23

CLOSING LIBRARIES. ABANDONING OUR PARKS AND GRASS VERGES. INTRODUCING CAR PARKING CHARGES. AND NOW AN APPLICATION TO BUILD 1000 DWELLINGS ON GREEN BELT.

Wirral Council has run out of money. In the last 5 years they’ve spent more than £40 million buying up property. Set aside £5 million to invest in a local bank. Paid off the Hoylake Golf Resort developers £500,000 to get out of their £26 million pound deal. They have failed to publish a local plan in the last 15 years which would have protected our green belt.

Despite the government giving them an extra £260 million to help us through the COVID crisis. In addition to more than £100 million ‘Leveling Up’ funding from government. The Labour - led council has run out of money.
