Councillor Helen Cameron
Although I have only served as one of your local councillors since 2019, it has been an eventful first term. With Labour losing control of the Council, a committee system of governance was introduced, so more decisions are made in public - with all political parties involved.
I am Chair of the Tourism, Communities, Culture & Leisure Committee with a broad remit of community services including; cultural services & museums, libraries, leisure centres, community safety, environmental health and trading standards. Also, as a member of the over-arching Policy & Resources Committee, I’ve helped to expose where the Labour-led council let Wirral’s taxpayers down.
Many residents share my view that the most important thing is what we see when we open our front door. We all want clean well-maintained pavements & roads, as well as attractive parks & green open spaces and I try to make this happen
