Another £3 million granted to Wirral Council

It has been announced that a further £3 million is being paid to Wirral Council by the Government to support the Borough during the Covid-19 pandemic. 

 

This brings the total value of grants paid to Wirral Council to just under £100 million.

 

Parking charge plan called in for review

The decision of Wirral’s outgoing Labour Cabinet to reintroduce parking charges from 3 August has been called in for review, following concerns that the move could be the final blow to some of the Borough’s struggling high street retailers.

Further fall in Wirral care home Covid-19 outbreaks

The latest figures from Public Health England, showing a further fall in Covid-19 outbreaks in Wirral care homes, have been welcomed by a local Councillor.

Since 6 April, when 18 of the borough’s 127 reported an outbreak, just one care home has reported an outbreak in the latest week.
