Calls for action to improve safety at Hoylake Promenade

With car use down to levels not seen since 1955, many of Wirral’s roads have seen a dramatic increase in cyclists.  The shift has brought fears for residents living on North Parade, Hoylake that the number of cyclists ignoring the one way road is an accident waiting to happen.

Following interventions by Councillors Andrew Hodson and Kathy Hodson recently, they are pleased to advised that the following works have been agreed:

1.  Gayton Road - traffic calming, 20mph

2.  Thurstaston Road - traffic calming, 20mph

CALL FOR ASSISTANCE with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) locally

Do you know anyone or organisation who can assist Wirral Council to provide personal protective equipment (PPE) for use as part of infection control measures (ICM) by staff providing frontline and key worker services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This might be equipment that is in stock and not being used or you may be able to manufacture equipment as an addition or alternative to your normal stock production. Any offers are most welcome.

Government lifts £84m debt from Arrowe Park Hospital

A Wirral Councillor has welcomed the announcement that Wirral University Teaching Hospital, including Arrowe Park Hospital, will benefit from an £83.8 million debt write-off as part of the government’s announcement to scrap £13.4 billion of NHS debt across England.

Great News from the Village Hall in Thornton Hough!

Councillor Cherry Povall has advised that The Village Hall in Thornton Hough has secured a Post Office service at the Coffee Shop on Tuesdays 1-3pm and Thursdays 10-12 noon starting Tuesday 24th March.
